Please pray for Sudan

Loving Father, we pray for the people of Sudan who have already seen so much devastation in their country. We pray for those trapped and unable to flee, that talks and agreements can relieve their suffering. We pray for those facing severe food shortages, that they may receive the vital humanitarian aid they need. We pray for the neighbouring African states as they join in calls for an end to violence and a return to talks. We pray for the Episcopal Churches in South Sudan and Sudan.

We pray for the Archbishop and Bishop of Yambio in South Sudan, for Rt Revd Zecharia Manyok Biar, Bishop of Wanglei. Rt Revd Wilson Kamani, Bishop of Ibba. Restore their strengthen, let them feel your healing Holy Spirit, guiding them as they hold your children in their care.

Father we pray for them.

Prayer is a vital element in the life of the church. Prayer transforms and has the power not only in connecting with God but transforming lives and situations. We meet at different times during the week and in different ways. Whether we gather in a central meeting or whether we are committed to praying at home, we value everyone’s contribution. Here are the opportunities to meet with others to pray:

  • 8.45am Monday to Thursday Daily Morning Prayer Mondays and Wednesdays in St Aldhelm’s Church lounge; Tuesdays and Thursdays in St Ann’s church.
  • Tuesday Prayer and Praise Tuesdays at 7.30pm. St Aldhelm’s Church Lounge.
